Mukil
FKC Co. Ltd.

Mukilteo Water and Wastewater District

The Mukilteo Water & Wastewater District needed more room in their aerobic sludge holding tank at the wastewater treatment plant.  They purchased a Rotary Screen Thickener from FKC Co., Ltd to meet this increased demand.  They are using a model RST-S630x2000L Rotary Screen Thickener manufactured by FKC for thickening Waste Activated Sludge.  One of the primary advantages of thickening WAS prior to aerobic digestion is that it allows for longer residence time resulting in improved volatile solids reduction.  Sludge dewaterability also increased at the plant due to the enhanced digestion.

City of Toppenish

When the City of Toppenish was evaluating dewatering equipment to upgrade their wastewater treatment plant they chose to go with a screw press rather than other dewatering technologies.  Toppenish WWTP is using a model SHX-650X4000L screw press, manufactured by FKC Co., Ltd., for dewatering anaerobically digested sludge. FKC is the world leader in screw press technology and located nearby in Port Angeles, Washington. Since startup in 2008 the screw press at the Toppenish WWTP has reliably produced cake in the 23%-24% range with no mechanical adjustments or maintenance other than lubrication.
